Slovak Police charge woman with threatening Muslims and Roma through Facebook, she faces six years in prison
Slovak Police arrested a 24-year-old woman yesterday who disseminated a video recording of herself through social networks setting fire to a copy of the Quran after tearing it to pieces, urinating on it, and making threats against Muslims. The Slovak woman faces charges of extremism and other felonies.
Slovak Police President Denisa Baloghová informed the Czech News Agency of the charges. “I will come after each and every Muslim. […] For me they are parasites who are worse than scabies. If they don’t know how to adapt to our way of life, then they have no business coming here,” the woman says while standing in front of a Slovak flag.
It is not apparent from the video where it was filmed, but the woman featured mentions Finland. She also alleges that “Muslims” once caused her lacerations and that she had filed a criminal report about the incident.
Slovak Police arrested the woman in Ružomberok in the north of the country. She also attacks Romani people in other videos she has posted online.
“You are feeding off of the state and you get everything for free. You have apartments free of charge and when you’re done living in them not even the floorboards are left. If you believe you can grub around here without paying and we will sit and take it, you’re wrong,” the “proud” Slovak woman says in one message to Romani people.
According to Baloghová, the woman lived in the Czech Republic for a certain time. She also uses Czech words in the videos.
“I won’t be stopped by criminal reports being filed against me or by the Muslims. I was born a Czechoslovak. This message is for everybody who is for Czechoslovakia, I’m calling you all to battle,” the woman says in one video.
Detectives have charged the woman with four felonies, including defamation of others based on their nation, political convictions or race and producing extremist materials. Should she be convicted, she faces six years in prison.
