Václav Sivák scored the 21st victory of his professional career on Sunday when he won the "Heroes Gate" traditional martial arts tournament at the UNYP Arena in Prague. He subsequently lost his temper.

The name of the rival to take Sivák on changed more than once and it was unclear whom he would be fighting until the last moment. Ultimately he fought under K-1 rules against Vladimír Lengál, 10 years his senior, at a tournament organized by the experienced Oktagon organization.

Sivák immediately controlled the duel from the opening round, subjecting his rival to a hail of blows. “Vašek, you’re a young lion!” his father shouted from the sidelines.

Lengál resisted during all three rounds, but the victory on points was clearly decided. Sivák came away with his 21st career win and remains undefeated.

“Naturally I regret that I didn’t manage to knock Vlada out. He did his best to survive, he didn’t want me to knock him out or for it to end early. It’s difficult to score a knockout when your rival doesn’t threaten you and won’t move towards you. I hope to score a knockout in my next match,” Sivák admitted to news server Sport.cz after the contest.

Unfortunately the match had an undignified end when Czech boxer Kelvin Soquessa entered the ring and challenged Sivák to a fight. Sivák lost his temper and shouted vulgar abuse at the interloper.

“This is unsportsmanlike behavior, I didn’t expect it at all. I know that guy, he’s always been nice to me. If he had at least warned me before the match, I would have behaved normally. If these guys are unable to assert themselves and want to show off at my expense, then they have to pay me,” Sivák explained to news server Sport.cz why he had used the vulgarities in his fit of rage.

In 2019, Sivák became the world champion of the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) and remains the amateur number one in global kickboxing. At the close of 2020 he won the title of the national champion of the Czech Republic in classic boxing.

In November 2021, Sivák won the much-prized international belt and became the WAKO Pro world champion in the weight category of 65 kg. and under when he defeated Fouad Djebari on points in Liberec, Czech Republic.
