Rapper Rytmus survives a car accident, says he has never been so close to death before
The rapper Rytmus has posted a video to his Instagram account of a car going up in flames that belonged to his wife, Jasmina Alagič. The incident transpired on the D1 highway as the rapper was returning to Bratislava, Slovakia from Prague, Czech Republic.
“This is the car (the Land Rover Defender) of my wife that she used to drive every day with our son. Just two days before it exploded as I was driving, she had returned from a trip to Croatia with it,” Rytmus posted with the video.
Rytmus expressed gratitude for the fact that his wife and their son Sany were not present during the accident. “I guess the man upstairs wanted me sitting in that car that evening to manage everything, because if my Jasmina and Sany had been there, they would no longer be with us,” the rapper posted.
“While driving on the D1 highway from Prague to Bratislava, something exploded in the undercarriage, then the engine died and I saw through the window that flames were starting to shoot out of the car. I was idling in full traffic between trucks and cars and I had to coast the car to the shoulder so as not to endanger anybody, including myself,” Rytmus described the dramatic moments to the Topky.sk portal.
“I had a few seconds to at least get some things out because the plastic had already started cracking and there were a few more explosions from the tires and other parts,” posted Rytmus. The rapper admitted he has never felt so close to death before.
“I’ve probably never been so close to death and it’s a feeling that shakes you up, but you don’t have time to process it because you know you have a big concert coming up where people are counting on you,” the singer said. The incident could have ended in tragedy, but fortunately did not and Rytmus is ok.
The rapper made an emotional statement about the importance of life and his good luck at being able to come home: “Appreciate every single second and every happy homecoming.”
