More than 3 000 people assembled to celebrate World Roma Day in Ostrava, Czech Republic - footage of performances here
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, celebrations of World Roma Day returned to Ostrava this year. During the afternoon of Saturday, 9 April. more than 3 000 people made their way to Svatopluk Čech Square in Ostrava-Přívoz to celebrate this important Romani day together.
During the course of the afternoon those performing onstage were the Slovak Band, singer Bertík Girga, the Milko Brothers and the famous vocalist Gitana. Singer Ricardo Kwiek gave a guest performance as well.
ROMEA TV broadcast the performances live online (see below). This is the third time the Movement of Romani Students, supported by the Association of Romani Entrepreneurs and Associations, has organized World Roma Day in Ostrava.
