Facebook page of the ROMEA organization has been hacked and is no longer under our control
On Monday, 6 February 2023, just before noon, the Facebook account of an administrator of the Facebook pages of ROMEA and ROMEA TV was hacked. The ROMEA organization has therefore lost control of its page, which is followed by almost 64,000 Facebook users.
“We still have no direct access to the Facebook page of ROMEA. We just have control over our Instagram profile, through which we are able to publish ‘stories’ to the Facebook page of ROMEA,” director Zdeněk Ryšavý said Thursday, adding that the hacker somehow made it around the two-phase verification set up for the account.
“What we know now is that this attack is not related to our work. This was about an organized group taking control of the page for the purpose of spreading links to fake pages through it,” the director said, adding that he is addressing the entire situation with Meta tech support and the police.
