Czech presidential candidate Petr Pavel has published several infographics on social media refuting the disinformation spreading about him in the Romani community. "Different kinds of disinformation are circulating on the Internet about the presidential elections. Some target the Romani community and are disseminating hateful, untrue messages under my name. I decided to respond. My team has prepared these infographics. I'll be glad if you share them with everybody who doesn't have this information or who believes these messages. Thanks!" Pavel posted to Facebook and Instagram.

Pavel is refuting the allegation that he dislikes Romani people, for example. He says it’s a lie being spread by the supporters of his opponent, Andrej Babiš.

“He grew up among Romani people. He has met with them during the campaign and has no prejudices against them,” his team refutes the disinformation on Facebook, adding that he has visited the Chanov housing estate and quoting his interviews for ROMEA TV.

The second infographic is responding to the question asked on the Všechnopárty TV talk show and refutes the allegation that he beat up Romani people in his youth. He quotes ROMEA TV, which asked him about that appearance.

Another hoax spreading about Pavel alleges that he wants to deprive Romani people of access to welfare. “That’s not true. The general is planning no such thing, and no president has such power,” Pavel’s team clearly states.

The final infographic refutes the most absurd lie aboute General Pavel, which is that he allegedly killed a Romani man. “General Pavel has never killed anybody,” the infographic states.
