Czech Museum of Romani Culture to sign cooperation agreement with European Grassroots Antiracist Movement tomorrow
On Friday, 26 January at 18:00 there will be a celebration at the French Institute in Prague to mark the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the European Grassroots Antiracist Movement (EGAM) and the Museum of Romani Culture in Brno, Czech Republic. The institutions will pledge to collaborate on defining the future concept of the memorial at the site of the former concentration camp for Romani people at Lety.
The event will be held within the framework of an international conference on “Commemorating the victims of the Holocaust and genocide of Romani people during the Second World War”, organized by EGAM, which will be held on 26 January at the French Institute in advance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is Saturday, 27 January. Before the celebratory signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, speeches will be made by French Ambassador to the Czech Republic Roland Galharague, Czech Justice Minister Robert Pelikán and Czech Deputy Minister for the Human Rights Section, Martina Štěpánková.
