world-known genre Gypsy Jazz, concerts of traditional Roma music will be
performed in Prague. Server Romea.cz, one of the media partners of the Khamoro
Festival, will gradually present all bands that you can enjoy live during this
Roma culture feast.
FEIGELI PRISOR BAND – The Netherlands
Feigeli Prisor famous for his guitar solos, sense of precise rhythms and
delicate melodies, together with Sendelo Schäfer controlling the rhythm
guitar and Peter Krijnenem playing the bass form a unique jazz trio. This
formation from the Netherlands has been influenced by gypsy jazz and gypsy
swing from the very beginning. Whether the band plays the most famous gypsy
jazz songs or their own pieces, listeners always have the opportunity to
admire their virtuous technique and attention to detail.

YORGUI LOEFFLER QUARTET – France
A talented guitarist Yorgui Loeffler belongs to a new generation of gypsy
jazz performers declaring allegiance to the legacy of Django Reinhardt. His
own style is especially distinct in brisk pace and technical precision.
Throughout his career Yorgui Loeffler has developed his own technique and
specific phrasing. His left hand and a sense of gypsy rhythms arouse the
attention of many experts. Noteworthy is also the fact that Yorgui only
plays instinctively and does not read notes. Together with his brother Gigi
playing the rhythm guitar and cousin Gino playing the bass they formed a
trio in 1999. The band was soon joined by a pianist Vincent and gave rise to
this unique instrumental combination.

OPUS 4 – France
Although French musicians OPUS 4 are inclined to the legacy of Django
Reinhardt, they call their refined style „Vocal Gypsy Swing“ for adding
extra vocals to traditional gypsy jazz and gypsy swing. These four
professional musicians of Eastern European origin base their diverse
repertoire not only on the tradition of Reinhardt’s legacy, but in their
interpretation they also mix tradition with folk and contemporary jazz
styles. Quartet’s frontman Serge Camps has performed in the world’s most
prestigious concert halls such as Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall.
His unmistakable energy is transmitted by two guitars, violin and bass to
the listeners worldwide.
