Slovakia: Car belonging to Fascist regional governor's media manager set on fire

Unidentified perpetrators set a luxury automobile on fire late Friday night or early Saturday morning belonging to Miroslav Belička, the right-hand man to the Fascist Regional Governor of the Bánská Bystrica Region in Slovakia, Marian Kotleba. A preliminary investigation has revealed that someone started the blaze under the left front wheel of Belička’s zebra-striped Hummer when it was parked at the Podlavice housing estate.

News server Sme.sk reports that Kotleba had also driven that particular car on occasion. Belička and the People’s Party Our Slovakia (Ľudová strana Naše Slovensko – LSNS), which is led by Kotleba, believe the crime is connected to his inauguration Friday as regional governor and called it an act of political terrorism.

The Fascists also say they do not trust the police to investigate the crime properly and claim they are being followed by the Secret Service. "Some of those in charge of that are proud that Mr Kotleba and I are being thwarted. Money from the European Union is being spent on monitoring us," Belička claimed, going on to say he has never received threats in relation to his work for the party or any of his other business ventures.

Belička believes the arson was either caused by the Secret Service or that they watched the crime being committed and said nothing. On Friday Kotleba confirmed that Belička will be given one of the most important posts at the Regional Authority.

Unofficial reports claim that Belička will become director of Kotleba’s office. The entrepreneur has been involved in Kotleba’s career for several years.

Belička has worked as Kotleba’s media manager and property manager. He was behind Kotleba’s purchase of land in a Romani settlement located beneath the Krásná Hôrka castle.

Belička is the CEO of Reality Industries, which engages in a wide range of business activities, from brokering the rental and sale of real estate to leasing to publishing. He worked for seven years as a technician at Slovak Television, becoming union chair before leaving the job.
