Czech Republic: Zlín Region supporting Romani integration
Six projects targeting Romani minority integration will be supported this year by the Zlín Region. Organizers will receive some part of the total amount of CZK 350 000 (EUR 12 750) that regional councilors have approved.
The projects will be supported from the Sub-program for Support for Romani Minority Integration, which is announced annually by the Regional Authority. Budgetary organizations of municipalities or the Regional Authority, natural or legal persons, and non-profit, non-state organizations organizing activities in the area of Romani integration are to be supported.
"In particular, the activities are understood to be arts and culture activities, education and training activities, recreational activities, and those supporting increased employment," said Taťána Valentová Nersesjan, the Zlín Regional Councilor in charge of social issues. The sub-program is the continuation of a previous sub-program that has been annually implemented since 2003.
The organizations and projects to be supported are:
The KADLUB civic association of Vsetín for the "Romani Roads – Roads without Barriers" project
The Primary School at Na výsluní 2047, Uherský Brod for the "Parasol, Pinwheel, Monthly" project
